The interviewer is lacking in interviewing skills. She is already biased about her views and has already formed her opinions. She is not listening to him and repeating whatever she is saying over and over again.

From this interview it seems he is innocent and paying price for his brother's sin. If he is a culprit then he should not have come to India and could live a peaceful life in Pakistan, but he chose to come to India as he had belief in Indian judiciary. If India is to fight with terrorism then bring back Tiger or kill him there itself. We should give a chance to Yakub Memon to live for rest of his life peaceful.

Someone involved in a crime surrendered to the Indian authorities and brought in useful intelligence information and in return was handed over death sentence for killing 257 people because he was in a "commanding position"
Meanwhile another someone who was in a "commanding position" in a terrorist attack that killed thousands of people became a Prime Minister. Go figure……

What a stupid interview by this stupid Report Madhu Trehan. As a reporter she cant be so rude. Court will decide whether he is right or wrong but why she was trying to be Judge. She is asking same question again n again even he is answering once. She made he mind before interview.

my understanding, more of circumstantial mistakes than plotting the crime. would be happy if he's spared.

His brother made him scapegoat it seems. It is interesting, RAW assured him that he would not be sentenced to death and thats why he returned (as per RAW agent Mr Raman). If he is sentenced to death then future deals with other terrorists would be impacted as they would not believe on RAW's assurance.

Folks who after viewing the interview thinking he is innocent. Just a word of caution. We haven't heard the defence arguments, this is just a one side story. It has been established by the court that he was indeed guilty and was involved in the planning as well.
His story makes perfect sense and is very believable. There were riots happening his office was burnt, people were being killed around. In such situation if his brother or any country rescues him he would definitely oblige.
However that could very well be the reason why he came back to India, thinking he could escape punishment by blaming his brother who is never going to be coming back.
Note that even his mercy petition doesn't claim he is not guilty. They all agree he was party to the crime but don't agree with the court on him being the mastermind. So he isn't as innocent as this interview claims anyway.
Hope the Bombay riots accused (masterminds) too get capital punishment for they are the real reason why the blasts happened. This guy was a well to do CA running his own firm with no criminal record before that.
