For those inquiring about the PMDG 737 Steam edition update, I found the update by going to http://www.aerosoft.com. Then on the left hand side of the screen click on FAQs/Updates. You will have to scroll down some. This will open up another search window that will have the Aerosoft A10 Warthog displayed. Click on the box and scroll almost to the bottom and click on PMDG NGX. Then click on in the blue box, show support for selected product. It will open another box and it will have a blue link to a zip file and under that it will say you will need a product key. Click on the link, enter the product key from your boxed product and then you can download the update.
Active Sky Next is required to get the weather radar to work. There are some work around a that can be done if you used the Active Sky Next 7 day free trial, however I do not think the weather on the radar will be accurate. In my opinion, Active Sky Next is well worth the money, not just for the PMDG weather radar (and I am sure more developers will begin to use it) but just with its ease of loading realtime weather. You already invested a lot of money in the aircraft for its realism, well flying is about 100% affected by weather. Also if you have the PMDG T7 there are other options that aircraft can use with ASN.
The model I am using is the 738 base package. I am not 100% sure but it should be the same across all 4 models. As for the DVD upgrade, Aerosoft released it about two months ago. If you go to their home page, a link should be on the right side of the screen.
The radar does not function with FSX default weather. Active Sky Next(ASN) is required for the radar to work… As far as I can tell. I found this info in the PMDG support portal under "Weather radar troubleshooting" was listed under PMDG 777 but the 737NGX was also included in this. If I'm wrong, then you can help me:).. Cheers
Hi Jason, I can see that 1d release is now available on PDMG site. 1d integrates weather radar but I'm wondering wheter active sky is mandatory to acitve the weather radar or not? Thanks, Jack
For boxed uses go on Aerosoft website search for pmdg 737 type in your cd key and when you get the update try uninstalling it and then reinstalling pmdg 737 update it worked for me hope this helps
