Coming out as an atheist? Thats like someone who doesnt study astronomy to come and say "I am not an astronomer, i admit it". Its ridiculous that today people come out to say that they have logic and dont believe in a man in the sky who controls weather and responds to "prayers". It should be the other way around
You didn't mention this in the video but I'm also veeeerry happy to see that Foster came out as a Black (or mixed/Black presenting, I'm not entirely sure) athiest. That to me is even bigger because religion is so entrenched in my community it actually really pisses me off to be quite honest. I understand religion's significance but even so, when it comes to thinking critically, it's almost discouraged anytime it steps on the toes of the church or outdated and contradictory "morals" that are taught in the Bible.
What really pissed me off when russell wilson beat the packers to go to the superbowl was that he knelt down with his team and prayed to god. What the fuck? He really believed a man in the sky gave him that win? And not only that, there was a hashtag trending for russell wilson called #realmenpray . I cant believe athletes get praised for that shit
i was waiting for yall to make a video on this…..football is one of my passion and yes….god is a HUGE part of the sport. he's now my favorite player NOT wearing a redskins jersey of course. oh….andi truly believe we'll see a openly gay president before a openly atheist president. just my opinion
Arian Forster being able to come out is the fact that there isn't anywhere near the "oppression" on atheism that many "angry atheists" imagine or portray. As for politics, most politicians are not religious and give lip service to the Church no matter what anyone says. The reason they are not openly atheist if they are.. are other atheists. Not like you, Mr. Mehta.. but those like the "angry atheists" here on the internet like The Amazing Atheist… and those who run American Atheists.. who deliberately portray and "oppression" that doesn't exist.
Hopefully Foster has a long career ahead of him and his heart condition doesn't hamper it. We need more athletes to do what he just did, way too many of them are like Tim Tebow.
Why is it coming out as atheist? Thats like announcing to people that I DONT believe in a magic man in the sky and that we go to some place after we die and that humans began in a garden, and that i eat bread and wine and its the body and blood of a universe creator who controls the weather and determines football games

It'll sure be interesting to see the reaction the Texans fans will have…
why the fuck is religion so tied to politics? i mean if you arent religious in this country you have almost no chance of holding any political office
awesome
Calculus? Piece of cake
yeah
sure…

I screamed laughing at the pointing to hell comment, that mental image is too much.

Yup, before my high school football games our coach would lead a prayer before going out.

Hemant Mehta, can you shed some light on how exorcism and "spiritual fulfillment" is only an emotional manipulation on the highly sensitive people.

Is Arian Foster helping to normalize atheism?
666th liker!
Totally cool he decided to tell everyone he's an atheist, but damn that must hurt his sponsors.
I'm still a Denver Bronco fan, but Arian Foster is now my favorite NFL player
May you do a video on hare krishna? Like one from a former?
can we please stop phrasing it "believe in God" and instead say "believe in any gods"
or better yet "…is not convinced that any gods exist."
