Had These 5 been able to overcome the constant internal power struggles (Frey/Henley) they just might have been bigger than the Beatles…
The departure of Meisner and Felder left the band as nothing more than a very polished studio band… No offense Timothy B but both the Eagles and Poco would have been better off had you stayed put…. Especially after you did such a nice job on Rose of Cimmaron……
Very much a shame that you Glenn Fhad to be such an egotistical A hole..
Why would you be such a low life as toforce a friggin benefit
for some crooked politician yet refuse to do one to help secure a future for your faithful road crew as D Felder tried to get you do?
All your money will never get you the respect you could have had if you weren't such a power hungry dick!!..
Love your stuff Randy and Don F

This performance still makes the hair stand on the back of my neck…..when Randy hits and holds that high note at 4.20 it was Rock Nirvana………that kind of thing can not be practiced or faked……..Meisner knew it by the expression on his face as did Glen Frey and also Felder hence the peace sign to Randy at the end……..magical performance and what else can you say about Meisner's True Shyness and Genuine Humility? Amazing.

Mankind has come a long long way but we have a little further to go, learning and accepting the truth the evidence suggests is the next and last step for mankind. Google Truth Contest and check the truth for yourself, nothing could be more important or worthwhile than checking the truth for yourself.

Just my opinion, but The Eagles were a pretty average country/rock band who lacked a topnotch songwriter. This was probably their most soulful song, enhanced by Randy Meisner's tremendous vocals.

It's pretty much accepted that Meisner was one of the greatest harmony/falsetto singers of all time. But I think his bass playing is underrated. It seems pretty simple and un-extraordinary after a casual listen. But listen closer. He is doing things–both musically & technically–that are very subtle and that are not obvious at first.

The opening intro is very similar to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' "If You Don't Know Me Right Now".
