I like Jake Lloyd… but right now I'm kind of pissed they didn't choose the blonde kid lol He just delivered the lines with some kind ofmixbetween mystery and melancholy, he came close to what I would imagine Vader as a kid.But oh well, seems George had something else in mind.
I think they did a great job casting Anakin and for those who wanted him to be older, they had a hard enough time getting a 9 year old accepted as a jedi because he was 5 years older than what was usually accepted. A 16 or 17 year old would never have been accepted into the Jedi's and it would have been well into his late 20's early 30's before he became properly trained.
The blonde kid should have gotten the part. Jake's not a bad kid actor, but the blonde kid had something unique, secretive about his expressions. Like, that's how a kid, who has an upcoming dark future should look. Part of it they just made Anakin WAY to innocent as a kid. They should have made him into a more silent, creative, yet slighly disturbed and secretive.
Jake did well in the movie. I never had a problem with him. George on the other hand didn't do as well and yet Jake is used as the scapegoat oftentimes.
Maybe it's cuz I am younger and didn't grow up with the original trilogy…. aactually no that is the reason, but I liked young Anakin. I liked Phantom Menace and the rest of the prequels. I see a lot of comments about the awkward relationship of Padme and Anakin, but what of the near incestuous one of Luke and Leia. Stars is the hub of weird relationships. Perhaps I don't understand the impact of the original and I guess there's this whole amazing thing that happened, I don't know, I also don't care cuz somewhere down the line, all the Star Wars are going to be seen together, they're going to be matched together andthat's just how it's gonna be. Complain all you like but it exists. I'm stoked for Ep 7, maybe Disney can do something Lucas didn't but I'm excited
Why didnt they just have Hayden Christen in the 1st movie? He shouldve been a teenager in the 1st movie anyway, not a little kid. & thats awkward as hell that Natalie likes a little ass boy in the 1st movie & then Anakind miraculously ages like 10 years in the 2nd movie,
Why didn't they just get an actor that was around Natalie Portman's age. They could have used the same actor for all movies.
