the ball don't lie. I feel bad for the English player who scored the own goal but their PK was totally bogus. I guess this is another example of the ball making sure that the game is played fairly.

Devastating. There couldn't be a worse way to get knocked out. It probably would've been a tap in anyway.

First of all I'd love to send huge respect & love to England from Japan. I thought it went into an extended match. England has always been the team that Japan hasn't done well against, and our girls played the match with respect to learn something from them. After the match, Japan's captain Aya Miyama mentioned "it was an unlucky goal by England", she's a person who never say like "it was lucky for us". I feel like this word from her on her personality says everything about. So I hope people don't try to be rude to both of the teams based on the result, especially about how the match came to the end…Ms.Bassett, please do not blame yourself. You just worked hard for your team!

In their last possession, Duggan failed to pass the ball across the field to an open Carney. Instead, she tried to force it to Jill Scott and Japan got possession of the ball going the other direction and we all know what happened next.
England just had to hold possession a minute or so more and then go into overtime.
Fran Kirby should have been brought into the game sooner and Karen Carney had just come in the game. She should have been brought in sooner as well. What a waste.

And these women are being compared to the 1990 legends team featuring Lineker, Shearer ETC. Shocking. Mens football is always better in pro level. Alzo the USA U-15 BOYS team beat the "pro" USA's women team 8-2.

Awful English dive in front of a naïve referee followed by a remarkable own goal in extra time. Nice scripted FIFA semi-final.

The bad refereeing, easy access through the defense, and some good ball kicking accompanied by weak goalies is what makes this whole women's tournament fun to watch.
