Okay but Pinoe's first goal was awesome. Picking up that ball and doing some damn fine footwork with defenders surrounding her only to make that goal was amazing. In Rapinoe We Trust
Wow the Ausi keeper is awful haha. But to be honest, Solo wasn't really in position for Ausi's only goal, she was in dead center of the net, she straight gave them the goal, could have been an easy save.
Australia were 6/1 for the draw and 13/1 at one stage for the win. I say that even if you had a fit Alex Morgan… we should've had a fit Lydia Williams keeper and Polkinhorne which would've made the difference today. It would've probably tamed Ripienna cheeses efforts down the left flank and her goal/s. Caitlyn Ford absolutely shut out your right side… with Polkinhorne marshaling things you wouldn't have had as much pentration. Williams is very close to the level your Han Solo is at… she would've saved 1/2 goals apart from the deflection. A draw would've been fair result… at times you were trying to ping it out back to amy wombat like 90s style soccer… hell we should've scored 1st… and Kaya Simon nearly scored ala Timmy cahill straight after we conceeded…needed a better volley and a worse keeper. We probably lost structure and got a bit too adventurous in our positioning 2nd half… after you guys went up 2-1 it was pretty obvious you guys would have more chance to score a 3rd then us a 2nd. This was hardly a performance to write home about… thank god you live just across the border. This was a reality check for you guys and a wake up call… germany would do training drills with you had they meet u that day…. brazil would've outpassed you and France outclassed you. You'll get to semis on pure individual quality but don't expect to win this world cup without something a lot better then that performance today. As for the aussies… if another punter gives them 13/1 odds to beat the USA next time around… they better be prepared to pay out after…
If the womans game had decent keepers it would be very good. The Keepers are shocking. That second US goal was an embarassment for the Socceroos. Who coaches these teams?
