Carbon fiber sounds risky, a fracture in a structural member is a lot worse than in aluminum or steel…we'll see how it works out.

Random, computer-controlled hazards sounds like it might make it a bit more fair, when it comes to the hazards. No human feelings involved :P

radioactive seems way too complicated the thing I learned from watching battle bots is the best bots are the most simple less stuff to break and faster to repair

I just watched the Original Battlebots and it was super cheesy, had this weird thing where they used half naked girls stroking the robots. I hope this new one isn't like that, Robot Wars in the UK was so much better and the female presenter was treated as one of the guys, not a sex object.

However looking at the promotional stuff, they're going for that annoying over the top US TV format and it's turning me off. I just want something that is more subtle, more for the geeks and not something trying to appeal to idiots who do not care about it.

Why I think it has more chance of succeeding if Robot Wars comes back in the UK. Our TV is so much better for something like this, I can only hope though that the promotional trailers end up being totally different to what we see on TV…. or in my case from a torrent.

In fact these videos are exactly how I'd want the new Battlebots to be, kinda similar to what they used to do in the UK Robot Wars.
