Don't worry, Arsenal are a top class DM and a top striker away from a title shot. Who's gonna give them that? Deals like Cech are a one off. I wouldn't worry about the Gunners too much, United are more dangerous with their financial power.
I understand Cech's decision. He's not a traitor in the slightest, it's a family decision and football is merely his job. Family>football. We still love Cech.

Do you guys think we should retire the no.26 when JT goes? Not an important number and would honour our greatest captain.

Man I feel terrible :( I like cech obviously a lot more than courtois. I mean it's not so bad he's going to another English club but he's going to my single most hated club it just makes me sad. I know petr deserves anything he wants as he's done so much for Chelsea but this just hurts my heart

You lot are hilarious – 'I can't stand to see Cech go to our arch rivals', 'Cech going to the club I hate the most'
Arsenal are not even your arch rivals, your arch rivals are Millwall, the clue is in the 'North London' 'West London' part.
Just show's how plastic ur supporters are!

Asangry as I am with Cech going to Arsenal, I can't see Wenger signing the 2 players he needs, assuming you think they need a CDM and an striker. He clearly has faith in Walcott and Giroud, and no striker is on the market right now. Also, he'll probably feel he doesn't needa CDM now that he has Coquelin, everyone knows how stubborn Wenger is when it comes to signing players nowadays. Arsenal will probably injure Cech somehow anyway.

11 mil for a 33 year old with 1 year left on his contract is good business financially, but we lose a legend & strengthen a rival, sad times indeed. It makes the Community Shield a hell of a lot more interesting & I believe Petr is doing this move mainly so his family isn't unsettled. He'll still be remembered as a Chelsea Legend, 1 day a massive statue of him donning his helmet will shadow over fans as they walk into the Bridge reminding them of his exemplary service to the club, thank you Petr, you're welcome back anytime.

As an Arsenal fan of course I'm glad that we've got Cech, but the fact that Chelsea have two of arguably the best keepers in the world really shows their class. I do think £11m isn't enough especially when selling to a big rival, and I don't know why they'd sell to Arsenal anyway, but obviously I'm not gonna complain. Though I still think it will take a lot for us to catch you up in the title race. And, also, the deal hasn't been confirmed done yet…

+ChelseaFansChannel course Petr deserves to play for a CL club but if I'm right PSG were after him or I'm sure pretty sure he could've found another CL club fair enough he wanted to stay in London or his family were settled here but just goes to show theres ultimately no pride in the shirt or loyalty to the fans you've played for obviously jose has chose courtois for obvious reasons just as good if not better and 10 years younger but it's not the fans who make that decision it's a pity but him and frank will have this cloud over them now fu*k knows what frank was thinking probably ill show the club, yes Fabregas did move to chelsea but arsenal did have first choice .

I'm not happy with Petr's decision too, But we just can't blame him for leaving, even if it's for Arsenal. He has deserved to choose his next club. He's been our number 1 for the last decade, and he's been magnificent. He has won everything with Chelsea, 4 Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Europa League, 2 or 3 FA Cups and League Cups too. And if we wouldn't have signed Courtois, Petr would have probably finished his carreer here at Chelsea. But that's football, that's modern football. We had already had one of Europe's and the world's best keeper in Courtois for 3 years out on loan. It was time to call him back. And Petr.. Petr had been such a professional this season. He wasnt crying.. And when we had needed him he stepped up. As far as I remember he has not conceded on any of his BPL matches this season except the last match of the season . Furthermore without him we would have probably lost our home match against Everton which was crucial match in the title race at that time.. In 2012.. Without him we wouldn't have won in Munich. That's for sure. Furthermore we wouldn't have even reached the final in Munich. He was man of the match against Barcelona at home, with probably one of his best performances ever. After all these things for me has every right to choose any team he wants to play for next. Even it is a london rival. He wants the best for his family. And maybe it is not even his choice to leave london or not, but his family's. He has worked for this club for 10 years, he trained everyweek, trained everyday. He will remain that person in my eyes.. Even if he helps Arsenal win the title next year.. Which is not that easy anyway. If they would….. Well that would mean we haven't worked well enough, bcause we have better qualities in every single position atm.. Goodbye Petr

There is NO WAY Cech will be worth 15 points to Arsenal over last season. Ospina actually had a better save % last season than Cech did in 2013-14 as a full-time player or even throughout his career, on average.

Arsenal only left 29 points on the table in 1-goal matches last season in total: 7 non-goalless draws, 8 matches lost by 1-goal. For Pete to make a 15 point difference, he'd have to change the outcome in about half of those.

But, even using historical percentages, Cech is only going to save about 10 percentage points better than Sczesny, which is the same thing Ospina did last year. And Petr will now have to do this with a back four andmidfield defense that is being coached to play "beautiful football" rather than being coached toWIN (i.e"play defense").

I still hate everything about this move andby no means am I suggesting that Big Pete is washed up, but Ospina had a career year last season and the difference Cech will make is likely to bemore like3 points (1 extra win, 1 extra draw)… maybe 6 (2 extra wins, 2 extra draws); not 15 points over what Ospina gave them.
