If you're conservative enough to wear a headscarf why the hell would you WANT to work at Abercrombie & Fitch?????

if your religion does not allow you to do certain things at a job, then why the hell would you want that job? for example, if your working as a doctor and your religion doesnt believe in medicines like vaccines or antibiotics then why are you a doctor? this is ridiculous. she should not have gotten the job. end of story.

OK someone tell me seriously why on earth a conservative Muslim (meaning one who wear a hijab) would want to work at a place like Abercrombie and Fitch? Why not just go ahead and apply at Hooters or your local strip club as a cocktail waitress (she probably doesn't drink either)? This is absurd.

I'm a Muslim and I cant agree more with Cenk on this. It's just plain stupid of her to even apply for the job wearing a hijab, i mean they are complete opposites of one another.

Lots of muslims tend to have a victim complex. Didn't get the job, BIGOTS! Criticise Islam, ISLAMAPHOBIA! Look, if you wear a fucking hijab you're not the right person to work at a store that mainly sells skimpy outfits.

If you are unwilling or unable to perform the actions required of a job, then you are not qualified to have that job. Full stop.

the one thing that annoys me about muslims is that (especially in europe) they use the pretence of others being intolerant when they start demanding their intolerant "morals"

I look forward to the day when someone claims their religion requires that they be naked.

Imagine a prostitute saying she will not have sex with someone until she marries them. Seems like the same exact thing to me

Why the hell would she want to work there any way, doesn't that place go against her religion entirely, theres photos of half naked people mounted on the wall, a good chunk of the staff is half naked most of the time, not to mention that she applied there but that doesn't mean she automatically gets the job, perhaps there was someone else who had better qualifications or had more available hours, her entire case resided on what she felt rather then hard evidence.

This is a really tricky one. From a legal position, its obvious that the supreme court was right in this case. On the one hand i think reasonable steps should be taken to accommodate a persons religious views. On the other hand, why do we hold religious views as special over other views….such as say your favorite sports team? Should we allow people to wear a Yankees shirt to work? I think pretty much everyone would say no there…..so why are religious views different?
