The hof is holding on to integrity.People these days don't care about integrity anymore. They have an "anything goes" attitude. Rose is banned for life. That pretty much sums it up.

Did anyone think of using just a set as a backdrop behind a guy banned for life for gambling….The fact he's talking in front of Las Vegas casinos gives me lulz…

what part of "lifetime banishment" does Rose not understand? Everyone knows he's tired peddling autographs and wants to get a big $ management job again but the powers that be is on to you and it will not happen.

Put Pete Rose into the HoF TODAY. If need be, contact your Congressman and Senators and demand they put him in by Congressional vote.

whats the big deal if you bet ML on your own team for there is no way you can cheat with outcome. If you bet Over or Under the game total the manager can, and Point spread can alter the game as well. But ML is just winning the game which is what managers and players are supposed to try and do for 162 games.

Its called the Baseball Hall of Fame. Not the quality person Hall of Fame. Keeping Rose out, or Bonds, or Clemens, etc, is just punishing the history of the game. Like it or not, they are part of baseball history. Keeping them out of the Hall isnt going to change that. They were 3 of the greatest to ever play. The writers are a bunch of petty, bitter old men using their vote to get back at players they didnt like.

KCBearcat..The catcher, without the ball in his possession, has no right to block the pathway of the runner attempting to score. The base line belongs to the runner and the catcher should be there only when he is fielding a ball or when he already has the ball in his hand. Major League Rule 7.06
Ray Fosse's career was not ended , in fact the next year he was on the All-Star team again. He played till 1979 !

Besides everything else, Rose, while a player-manager, kept inserting himself in the lineup, keeping promising young players on the bench. Keith, you're a greatanalyst. Please don't over think this. Rose is where he belongs.

if you gamble, you're out. rose gambled, admitted to it, signed off on it. and was banned for it. this "issue" of reinstatement baffles me.

Induct him AFTER he dies. That way the lifetime ban is upheld and his stats get him in the HoF. Otherwise, no dice.

… I can't believe a baseball historian like Keith Olbermann can truly believe that Pete Rose deserves to be reinstated, but obviously he has a bandwagon to jump on and it'll help his ratings by being on that bandwagon. Quite sad that he can't be honest with his viewers nor even honest with himself, but I understand. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Pete Rose has been punished enough and he is remorseful…He earned the Hall on pure outstanding performance on the field — he should be allowed in. From there he will be a more meaningful ambassador of the game because he knows better than most the value of flying right in any profession.

It's time for him to be let back in baseball, but he can't manage. I wished Keith would ask him if he still gambles (I'll bet he does). He should be in the hall as a player.

… Lol. Giamatti didn't violate anything. Offering an opinion does not = making a statement. What was signed was not a court order. It was an agreement between two private parties, MLB and Pete Rose. There was no gag rule in effect where Giamatti couldn't comment on anything. He was asked his opinion, and he gave it. If Rose didn't like it, tough tamales. Maybe he shouldn't have bet on the Reds, then?
