It's a shame that we don't know history. It was a European that seperated humanity into races. Before slavery people were referred to by their nationality. The term caucasion was used before white. Negro is the same as black, just sounds different. We seem to compete against white with the same mistakes used by the color conscious scientist of the past. Someone put us in a race and we can't seem to get out of it. The people of America are the only people on earth that you will find in a crayon box. We were considered coloured people during slavery as though we had been colored after leaving Africa. We have the right to lift ourselves and chart our own course like any other group of people. Truth sometimes hurt but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't speak it. You go Smokey. You're still one my best writers.

Smokey's talking a Gang o' shit … many Black organizations long before the post-Civil Rights era had the word African in front of it. The churches, the Colleges, schools etc, built after Reconstruction also had 'African' included. And Africa is closer to home then Black … Ill let Dr Umar Johnson tell ithttps://youtu.be/vd5sYtFTRdA?t=11m18s

I love that someone like Smokey Robinson step up and told it like it is! I'm a Black American and I have been telling people this every since they changed our nameto that. I've met a lot of Africans who don't even like us black folks over here. I like how he broke it down how the white folks have even came out and said that we are the first people on earth. And that everybody comes from black. So wake up folks and understand that we are Gods chosen people and it's going to be hard for us until we wake up and really know this.

The legendary Smokey Robinson keeping it real! Wow! He is right there were already dark skinned people here which the Europeans called the Copper Colored Races, not all of us came from Africa. But they did not call themselves Black or Negro that is a false classification by the European invaders. Yet some people just don't get it up to now. They still calling themselves Black or Negro while claiming Native American ancestry smh. Indigenous Americans were originally and are still copper colored. It doesn't matter if others are pale skinned that's through admixture with Europeans and Asians. But us dark skinned Natives are still around!
