Another setback for the commercial crew program. at least we have till 2019 to get this fixed and build another docking adapter.
I do however wonder how many resupply missions the ISS can skip before having to evacuate. And if they do, will the station have to be abandoned permanently? That would put the space program back decades for just about everyone except china funny enough. It would also sever the last real tie Russia has to the west.
-Also, why doesn't ULA have a resupply vehicle? They'll probably take this opportunity to brag about how reliable the EELV is, but they don't have anything to launch on it.- EDIT, they will be launching the Cygnus.
With Progress and Dragon both down for the count, and the ATV retired, Maybe it's time for Orbital Sciences' Cygnus and the Japanese HTV to save the day? Can either of them re-boost the station?
Wow heart breaking, Rocket Science is easy, said no one,,, ever. But they also say that if you never fail you are not innovating. And Elon Musk is an innovator. That is how he got to where he is.
The Anomaly occurs just after the 2:50 mark.
Most unfortunate.
19 success and this is the one that blows up, the one that had two hololens in it, that sucks.

Back to the Kerbal Space Program Lab..
Expensive fireworks.

2:54 something clearly falling from the vehicle whilst the first stage keeps firing.
ALL ESCAPE PLANS FAILING MISERABLY
ALL ESCAPE PLANS FAILING MISERABLY
Looks like the problem was with the second stage. The first stage looked OK after the initial blast.
Happens right on his birthday, ouch!
Start was beautiful. So sad this happened.
Im really thinking of a space elevator.
Space is hard. Good luck next time SpaceX!
