5:35 even the Steelers knew the Cowboys gave the game away by not handing the ball to Dorsett. I think someone like Bill Walsh would have sensed they could run the football with Dorsett and exploited it that day. The Steelers were getting a little older and Dorsett was 'fresh'. The opportunity was there. Walsh and Landry were similar in that they were innovators. However, Walsh was more flexible in his approach. Landry was a great coach, but could be a little rigid. I always felt he was a little over-protective of Dorsett, trying to preserve his longevity. Dorsett wasn't built like Jim Brown, but was surprisingly sturdy, and I think he could have been used more. It might have shortened his career somewhat, but the Cowboys would have won more rings. Dorsett was a "big game" back. Sort of a missing link during the Landry era.
Terrible day for Franco other than the TD. Steelers got a couple of lucky breaks like that bad call that Swann got tripped on purpose, BUT there's always gonna be bad calls, no ref is perfect
I am a Steeler Fan from Pittsburgh and I have to say that pass interference call in the 4th quarter against Billy Barnes was bullshit against Lynn Swann. They both tripped each other, so Swann should have got in trouble too, and I am a Steeler Fan. It was both their faults not just Barnes. Swann should have got the penalty also.
Nothing against Roger because he played a great game, but I think his pass was a little low and short to Jackie Smith. It was still catchable, but it wasn't right in there.
Greatest game..dallas was the commercial everyone favorable team. Corporate white bread team…Pittsburgh was underground blue collar underdog black steel team.. I never like dallas they thought they was the best. That was my favorite super bowl of all time. The great Steelers beating the dallas cowboys
You Cowboy fans still cryin' about this game?! A team doesn't score 35 and call it a game the refs gave them. THe only reason the score was closer at the end was because it was already over at 35-17. Look, the STEELERS were the team of the decade and the best dynasty of all time. Deal with it Dallas. You suck.
Thanks for posting. I'm a big Cowboys fan. NFL History should be thankful for the three SB that these two teams played. I'm glad the Cowboys at least got one of them.
This game still hurts me Cowboy's should have won. What the heck is Randy White doing trying to handle a on side kick, and of course Jackie Smith missing that pass. Still kills me today.
Talent-wise the Cowboys were as talented as the Steelers, but they were a little sloppy, surprisingly. That was one ofbthe differences with the Steelers, the Steelers didn't 'beat themselves' that often.
My goodness Cowboy fans are the biggest excuse makers on the planet! Do you still not realize what your were dealing with back then? The greatest team in the history of the NFL was the opponent. What did you REALLY expect?! GO STEELER NATION!!!!
This was the most competitive Super Bowl ever to date. In the first 50 years no game has featured two more accomplished, more evenly matched teams. There might be some as good in the future, but to date this was the best matchup ever.
I knew Pittsburgh was going to win watching the kickoff on this day….Lot's of crying Cowboys…….hey don't run into the ref and oh yeah you knew it was a trap in the O gap as well ,it was Bradshaws fault Pitt scored …………………..wow
Pittsburgh of the 70's is the best of team of all time; namely the 78 team. What element did they not have? This Dallas team is one of the best teams ever that sadly some great players (Harris, Martin, several on the O-Line, and Walters) that are not in the HOF because they lost this game which is stupid. In this game the new rules made Swan and Stallworth impossible to cover and Bradshaw was super talented (great athlete, arm, very high wonderlic test) if somewhat underachieving (hard to say that about someone with four rings) leading up to this season. This Dallas team player for player was better than the Dallas teams of the 90's (I know its all about the rings) but Pittsburgh was just a better team and the best team of all time and I am NOT A STEELER FAN!

2:10 Who the hell is that speaking??
Terrible pass-interference call on Benny Barnes!!
Dallas & Pittsburgh was to The Super Bowl what Ali/Frazier and Gatti /Ward was to Boxing

You can't throw the ball over Lynn Swan's head. That man can jump and catch it.

If any dominating was done it was by The Steelers.. Sounds like a bunch of excuses from Cowboys players

Big mistake was not getting the ball to Dorsett more. Dorsett was in a zone. It was his day. Landry missed it.

Cowboys fans must REALLY hate the Orange bowl
