Tonight's episode of 20/20 brought me here. I so love these boys, who are now men. They are so amazing!!! Nothing can hold down the human spirit! I love it!
In his 1762 novel Émile, or On Education, Jean-Jacques Rousseau imagined a boy raised in nature, away from the corrupting elements of society. The Wolfpack, Crystal Moselle’s fascinating new documentary, is the story of parents who took some of that ideal to heart.
Six brothers and one sister grew up home schooled by their mother, succonded to their apartment everyday of their lives living "like a tribe" thanks to their father but it was through film they could escape their normality.
In the moments they step from one world and into another the documentary follows that transition.
It has gone on to win a Grand Jury Prize for a documentary at the Sundance Film Festival and if the trailer is anything to go by, including the director interviews I have already watched this is one film that would be mean a lot to those even closer to home.
Nicknamed the Wolfpack, the brothers spend their childhood re-enacting their favorite films using elaborate homemade props and costumes.
In Theaters starting June 12th, 2015.
