Well Wade was supposed to be "paid back down the road" the last two times he took a paycut. But they put themselves in a bad financial place because of all the long term deals they want and the player options.
if the Heat wanted Durant in 2016 Wade would have to take 10 million.. .YES… 10 MILLION… the only way he'd make more is if the Heat lost Dragic and Whiteside who they WILL have to PAY to keep. And if they did then Durant isn't going there anyway and Wade is left with nothing.
If I'm the Lakers I'm throwing 16m at Wade on a 2 year deal with a Player Option on the 3rd and DARING Miami to match that, because if they don't , Wade is gone and rightfully so. The Lakers on the other hand have Clarkson, Randle, and Okafor/Towns/Russell coming in and all on rookie contracts, and could afford to pay Wade that kind of money AS WELL as max Durant in the 2016 off-season without shortchanging anyone.
So yes, the Heat ARE playing a dangerous game. If the Lakers offered Wade that 16 million on a multi-year deal as well as a team of Clarkson, Kobe, Randle and Towns/Okafor then I don't see Wade saying no to that, knowing he doesn't have to be short changed and the team would STILL have enough to go after and Max Durant in 2016 without making Wade 'take one for the team'.
Maybe Riley should go with plan b. Offer Wade a one year contract worth 25 million, with a promise that he'll get a longer contract after the free agency of 2016.
Wade is no different to any top NBA player, he's greedy pure and simple. Stephen A yet again has no concept of money where he thinks any human being deserves $20 Million a season to play the game of Basketball.
Sign wade to the max for 1 season and in 2016 take care of him IF we don't get any other big name free agents in 2016. If he doesn't like that, then he'll have to look at other options
Sounds good but I doubt kd will go to Miami . That's still a 50/50 chance … wade can get hurt next season and that will make kd not want to sign lol I know he's gonna leave okc they got rid of their coach he had high respects for and honestly him and Russell Westbrook are great but their not great together. .. their both ball dominant players and when it's both of them on the court they just play 2 man isolation ball. . So one of them have to go!
