It sucks to see so called "hip-hop heads" turn on street music. Hip-Hop was started in the streets and the music will always be rooted there. YG and Mustard may not be the most lyrical or deep musicians out there but they make great street music which used to mean something in this culture. Makes me wonder what the YouTube commenters would say about Snoop & Dre if they came up doing interviews in this day and age.
I hate when people say all mustard beats sound the same.. That's ignorant af as a producer you may make like 30-40 beats to a certain sound and if people keep wanting that sound then what's wrong with that ? That's how he feeds his kids ladies and gentlemen . You don't tell a drug dealer stop selling a certain type of weed when that's what people ask for EVERYTIME they call your phone., I'm sure he has beats people wouldn't even recognize but right now everybody want that bay , pop sound on they projects and he made at sound mainstream so..
