For anyone considering reading any lower than the movie info and venturing into the comments, just don't. It's a total clusterfuck down there. It's the worst kind of bullshit, I barely made it out myself.
Just out of curiosity of the word negro as is mentioned at 1:00:49, is it accepted to say in public, or is it just the word nigger that is the sensetive one? In sweden, it is no matter how you put it, a "racist" word, no matter if you arereferring to the "negroid" people-group (which by the way is a very sloppy term to begin with since it includes a lot of ethnic groups but not really any specific ones), or if you are trying to be insulting.
Loved this movie! It was directed and written so well. The point of the movie is not that women will be physically stronger or better, but to give them the chance to at least prove it. I think they should be allowed to be tested and if she can pass then they should let her in! Honestly they won't even be doing half the shit they do in training. Just running and shooting for the most part. Incredible job to Demi she was perfect.
I trained female Marine recruitson Parris Island Recruit Depot in South Carolina for almost four years. I would have 30 to 40 different female recruits a week. It is the only place they send female Marines to train. That being said, the corps is segregated during boot camp becausefemales simply can not handle the male battle load during combat. I did the 42 mile Crucible with the females. They are hard chargers and would put a lot of men to shame, I evengot a hernia from it myself. The Crucible takes place overa course of 3 days with just a few hours of sleep in between each day with only one MRE to eat for each day. Now, after it was said and done, most of the female platoons were wrapped around the corner of medical with stress fractures. It tore their body up. No sexism involved, the female body is just not made for the weight and they did not carry as much weight as the males. They could not do it but women can do more than what most men think they can do. A lot of women have men snowed on their inabilities. I laugh when I see women taking advantage of a man who does not know any better. All I can think of is, dumbass! Parris Island is the toughest female training site in the world and I saw what they can do when pushed. Some men could not do it!
Thank you for this. I'm stuck in a hospital awaiting a diagnosis and bored out of my mind and yes worried about my condition and what will happen next. Watching movies is the best distraction right now.

Who's going to ring the bell and who's going to stay
is the job of Navy seals still off limits to women, if so why?
If you've never seen it, the full length version of "G. I. Jane" has been on YouTube for a couple of years now. I've always thought of it as one of Demi Moore's best roles.
