If you're not a teacher, you should be. You have a gift. My mid summer tradition is to find a dark room in an air conditioned place and stay there until it cools off. It is often over 100F and the sun is brutal. I dream of the mists of Great Britain!

I am so glad those monks got bored and wrote down historical stuff, so we have more than just births of Kings, Gospels and Wars to read about :)

    Great video!

Merry (upcoming) summer solstice Annika! Thanks for making this video, i think I truly needed it today, so busy that sometimes I forget to slow down and remember the turning of the year. (plus I have yet to create the Litha pages in my BOS)
I am absolutely in love with the information you shared, history is so fascinating. Have a wonderful Midsummer. )0(

You have a lovely reading voice, Annika! I love that you mentioned the sun having a feminine representation amongst ancient Germanic people. Last year I read, "Drawing Down the Sun", and, "O Mother Sun!", and they're both about sun goddesses. In my path I revere the sun as being a representation of ourselves as we are seen, and the moon's reflection of the sun's light as the part of ourselves that are unseen. I see both celestial bodies as possessing both masculine and feminine qualities. My brother's birthday is on June 21st, so when the solstice lands on that day I'll celebrate his birthday. This year I'll be vacationing in Florida for the latter half of June, so I look forward to observing that day on the beach. :) What are your plans?

This is the first summer in a while I have been able to get out and try to enjoy things. I am kinda heat sensitive and it gets SO hot here. We had two wicked summers, but our evenings are getting cool enough where I can go for walks about 30 minutes before and then during twilight. I love being out at twilight anyway, it's my favorite time. So I am enjoying summer that way, enjoying that it is not too cold to be out then, and listening to the evening and night birds. I saw a MASSIVE owl take flight the other evening, so really enjoying it!
