It's interesting how some people of minority and tragic social heritages can, after achieving hard won success, go on the champion the very conservative philosophy that at one time caused them so much pain. Take Scalia, for example. Just how does an American of Italian descent come to be to the right of Strom Thurmond? Take a look at this link.
