I don't think Blind deserves any credit for the clean sheet today, or at least not nearly as much as Smalling or Darmian. He would go up for a tackle, get pushed off easily, then leave the rest of the defence to scramble and make up for him. If you can't win a tackle or a header, you cannot be a CB.
Darmian – dream debut, excellent performance Schneiderlin – decent, but shaky, overall solid Depay – tried to impress, his time will come, needs a bit of time Schweinsteiger – very controlling for the bit that he played, needs to gel a little more Romero – a bit nervous early, brilliant 2nd half performance
Blind had Kane in his pocket? Are you taking the absolute piss? In a game where we had 0 shots on target while Spurs had 9, a game where we only created 1 chance in the 2nd half while Spurs had 7, a game where our keeper made breathtaking saves while we didn't trouble their goalie at all. A game where we played dross, dire football and to come out and say such cringeworthy stuff. Kane was barely getting any service from his midfield. It had nothing to do with the effort of our centerbacks and in particular Blind. If anyone is praiseworthy it's Smalling for the numerous last ditch tackles/interceptions he made
Blind got bullied, he's lucky Smalling was there to cover him, if Smalling had a top cb alongside him then I reckon our back 4 would be one of the best if not, the best in the PL
No smalling had kane in his pocket Blind looks clueless in defense he doesn't have the characteristics of a good CB he played well at LB and as a holding Midfielder but he doesn't play well in CB
