This supercell was intense, forming the EF2 that hit Pekin, then the EF4 that hit Washington, then redeveloping another EF2 that hit Coal City (Where your near in the video) and Diamond then dissapated over Manhattan on the south side of chicago. Wanting to be a Storm Chaser myself, i was amazed watching this supercell on radar go a long distance for it being in Illinois

I have a Video on my channel of this tornado, we were out spotting and it touched down so fast and we had no choice but to go for the ditch. I took the camera with me.

My gf lives in coal city and we were sitting in her apartment watching the bears game when this happened. Just to think all you had to do was stay at DQ for the tornado. Crazy how much you drove to chase this down and all you had to do was stay put at DQ/Shell. The security cam vid from that exact shell is all over the internet. Some times its best to stay put huh? lol. It was not a fun experience when ur in a apartment with no basement knowing this thing was closing in. Not gonna lie I was alittle scared because it was so rain wrapped I couldn't see a thing

I live less than a mile away from where the tornado hit the Shell/DQ station. We actually got some wind damage. A speed limit sign blew into our yard, and a big, rotten pine tree was leaning on our neighbors house!

I intercepted this tornado and was able to capture 113 MPH ground wind speed. Power pole snapped a lot of grass debris. I was on the east side of the storm when the tornado formed.

This is Brett Thompson from Tempest Tours. Constantly annoys me that I can't join you for these adventures. Nothing sucks like waking up the in the morning and hearing about all the tornadoes you missed. Looking forward to new adventures in the future.
