I hope they show this video in the Jackie Robinson West law suit. I'm sick of hearing about how they shouldn't have had their championship taken. Every time I hear someone talking about how it's not fair to the Chicago players I want to force them to watch this video.
From someone who didn't have a male role model growing up, I appreciate this man's words to these kids…They will take them with them for the rest of their lives. Good coach, greater man right there.
I thought it was a great speech and helps them understand there are dissapointments in life and you can accept them and move on and learn from them It was sweet and endearing.
I am one of the most cynical assholes you will ever find, but if your actually ripping on this guy then your a complete toolbag. These are 11 and 12 year old kids who are heartbroken over a loss and they needed to hear something like this. If your too stupid to understand that then I really don't know what to tell you.
To know now that this team lost because the other team cheated is heartbreaking. This coach was right, this team was awesome for real. They deserved to be the ones at the World Series. Shame on you, Chicago.
Brandon, you dickhead. If you had watched any part of this game and had seen what an exciting game it was with kids who were dead serious about playing, who were good sports, and who gave it their all…I started to say maybe you would have felt differently. But I'm wrong. A dickhead is a dickhead. Put away your assault rifle, put away your keyboard, drink another beer, and fall into a deep, deep sleep. Oh…and you're a dickhead! (By the way, I never respond to posts in this way. But…Brandon is a dickhead.)
It's maybe hard to explain the attachment that you develop with young many over years of playing baseball together in Little League but I can totally relate to where Coach Belisle is coming from, the emotion of coaching a group of young men for the last time but at the same time the tremendous amount of pride you have in seeing them develop and mature over the years.
This speech could have been so much shorter: "You didn't quit, but you're still losers."
We need more people like that guy in the world.
@David Belisle I salute you!

Get this guy on the Mets. They need some damn motivation.
Can anyone count how many times he said ok?

My team faced this Cumberland team 3 times we only won once
Damn, okay this one was worth handing my man card in and crying like a baby. That was an amazing speech
