There was just something magical that day. If you try to dissect it, it falls apart. Everyone was just happy and cool that day. It was a cloudy summer day in Buffalo, but it wasn't even muggy. Everything was perfect, simply because no one expected anything. That's when the Dead thrived. When they didn't have the spotlight on them. That's why shows from Hampton beat New Years at Oakland any day (IMHO).

This was my first Grateful Dead Show. I saw several subsequent shows ending in 93. One of them was in Ohio at a Hockey Arena. The rest of them at Rich Stadium. On two occasions I managed to coax my children to come with me. Of the few shows I got to see I think this was the best, if not it was the 93 show.

I sure do miss Jerry and the boys and I'm glad to see them getting a payday in Chicago this year. They gave a lot of joy to those who came to hear them over the years they deserve the repayment.

I wonder what it will take for society to produce a phenomenon like the Grateful Dead again. The future will tell.

Is this from one of the DVD's? I have bought most of them, and I'm trying to organize which concerts are included on dvds, and which are not. Either way, great concert!! :)

Back in the day, ( 1979-1995) for us guys and gals from the Jersey Shore, (Spring Lake area) When "The Boys" did the annual east coast tour approx. 25-40 of us regularly almost without exception would drop everything, yes, jobs as well if need be to get to "Jack's Music" in Red Bank and get as many tickets as possible for as many shows as possible. We would scalp the rest! Off we went, this was such a part of our lives that parents, employers, etc had no choice but to expect and hopefully accept that, NO MATTER WHAT, we were going! I think all the folks from our crew would agree that the primary reason nothing ever stopped us was simply the best music and I mean literally "the BEST" performed by the most naturally gifted, down to earth humble musical geniuses. Beside the music were the people, (Deadheads). Don't let the term fool you, I've met some of the most intelligent people on earth at Dead Shows! The entire package was something that unless experienced could never be properly explained. That day in August, 1995 R.T.C. who I was working with at the time came to the jobsite, told me what happened. We put down our tools and called it a day, near 11am I think. Bob and I had been to several shows together. We spent the rest of that day riding around recalling memories of pure joy that our brother Jerry brought to us over the years! I thank God not only for the music and the parking lots but for all the gentle, love and peace filled people I met along the way.
    Forever Grateful,
    Johnny B.

haven't heard that many watchtowers to be any expert or anything, but this is the best one i've heard! jerry's solos are absurd, and he's so humble :)
