Putsch: Overthrowing a government, in other words a Coup. First time I heard the word was about a year ago (came up in the conversations about Ukraine).
It's pronounced the same as push.

Scalia's dissenting opinion is why it's important to vote. The next president will probably pick at least one new supreme court judge and the last thing we need is another delusional religious jackass on the court.

He didn't use putsch to sound smart. He used it to link the majority decision to Nazis, invoking the reductio ad hitlerum.

Scalia is disgusting. He will go down in disgrace for all of history to remember.. all future law students will hear about his retarded ass and write term papers on how he was wrong on everything.

Even if the ruling was against the democratic "will of the people", simply because the majority may not be for something does not mean that something is constitutional or right. Segregation was, for a long time, was the will of the majority in America, however, today we look back and see that as horribly wrong and embarrassing. The majority can be dead wrong morally but that shouldn't determine what is or what is not moral.

However, since the majority IS right in this case, shove a knife up your whiney ass, Scalia.

And yet another retard who thinks that courts are bound by the will of the people, and what's worse, this guy is ON the Supreme Court.

Also, things like the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed, even though it was incredibly unpopular in the southern states. Same can be said about Loving V Virginia and interracial marriage. I can assure you that the same shit that is being said in opposition to same-sex marriage was the same shit that was being said in opposition to CRA 1964, and Loving V Virginia.

But as for this whole "threat to democracy thing" He has no idea what he is talking about, else he wouldn't of ruled in favor of the corporations in Citizen's United. Just because things are unpopular does not make them bad for democracy. Representatives have 2 duties. A) Listen to the Will of the People, B) So long as the will of the people does not infringe on the freedoms of others.

PS, I know "retard" is a strong and mean word here, but it does fit here. Not ONLY does Mr. Scalia think that the Courts are bound by the Will of the People, BUT he is also on the Supreme Court. IMO, if you don't know how the branches of government work, I don't think you should be in positions of power like that. And it doesn't matter if you are president, governor, or mayor, if you don't know how the branches of government work, then you have no business in such as position.

It's eye opening and extremely depressing to see that this delusional christian conservative bigotry extends all the way to the highest courts in the country.
