People are giving her a pass because of the fact that she studied African American culture and has overall done good things for African Americans but all that does NOT make up for the fact that she lied about her parents and background, lied about who her own son and father were, and has been donning braids, afros, African jewelry, and even a fake tan to help her in her deceit. That is disgusting no matter how much "good" she might have done as a NAACP leader. Don't you all realize that she took that job from a black person who would have been able to share REAL experiences? Don't you realize that she is making black culture look like something that you can perm and fake tan onto yourself, instead of being a huge and sacred thing that has gone through more brutality and hardships than probably anyone in history? Being "transracial" is a bullshit excuse and you know it. The point is that she lied and had NO intention of leading an honest life. For all of her academic work she sure is naive/stupid to think that she can lead such a fraudulent public life when it is sooooo easy to do research. The dummy had it coming and I'm glad her lies are blowing up in her face. They always do!

She took money out of our pockets. With all of the discrimination we face as a people, THIS job should go to one of us!

I don't know how I feel about this, I'm puertorican so I'm mixed by heritage. I think what I dislike about her is her dishonesty.

I wouldn't mind if she tan herself, curls her hair, use certain style or none of the physical aspects, but her dishonesty is just what I can't stand.

She went to a historically black university. She married a black man and has a black son. She's a professor of Africana Studies. She's a leader in the NAACP. She identifies herself as black, has respectively adopted the culture, and is down for the cause… I say let her be black. I welcome her to the black community.

If Rachel Dolezal wants to be black, then Rachel Dolezal is black. Why the hate? Isn't America supposed to be a free country? If anything, she should be lauded for her courage and integrity.
