He went from being worshiped in St.Louis to pretty much irrelevant in LA. He might have went on to be the greatest Cardinal of all time and that's saying a lot for such a storied franchise.
Lol this was completely ruined when Pablo Sandoval did the same thing the next year. Ruth, Jackson, and Pujols are among the best ever, but Sandoval is just an above average average player so it kinda sucks that it happened. Fuckin Verlander
El Hombre is on par with Musial regarding Cardinals all-time greats. Thanks for the best decade of hitting ever Albert. Hope you wear the Cardinal cap for your first ballot Hall of Fame induction.
Not a Cardinal fan, but wish he would have stayed w/them instead of going to LA…but I guess once you have that WS Ring…the next thing to do is go where the money is at!

I'm a Red Sox fan But the cards are a interesting team they should of signed Albert again maybe tried Albert or Matt Adams at 3rd base whoever didn't take 3rd will take 1st put carpenter bak at 2nd and peralta at SS
As a die hard Cardinal fan, as much as I miss Albert, I'm glad we didn't sign him. His agent and he wanted WAY too much money for the ladder half of his career. His numbers are crap in LA and I'm sure the Angels organization is "loving" it, lol. The Cardinals are in a much better place without him. Had he resigned and taken a huge cut out of the contract to help support the rest of the Cardinal organization to build a team, I would have had no problem with him resigning. But I'll tell you this, had he resigned with St. Louis, his numbers would be WAY better than what he's producing in LA right now. I think he knows that he made the biggest mistake of his life signing with Los Angeles, and he's the one who has to live with it. But he gave the Cards and St. Louis 10 amazing years.
Pujols was an absolute monster. He's still good, but age and injuries have definitely caught up with him. I can only imagine how scared pitchers are and were against him, especially back in his prime.
Pujols is the best hitter of the 21st century. Absoluetly UNREAL numbers from 2001 to 2011
Just a Grand Slam short of the Home Run Cycle. No one in MLB history has ever done it.

"That ball was absolutely murdered"
Who wouldve thought that a 13th rounder could become a HoFer?
He went to my Highschool.
That First Homer was an absolute MAMMOTH SHOT! You can even hear Tim McCarver says 'Oh my Gosh!'

That first home run was absolutely ridiculous.
He only had one other hit in the World Series after that game, but it was a key hit in the 9th inning of game 6. That hit helped them win.
Something just tells me Pujols will pass Ruth,Aaron and Bonds someday…
Pujols hits a trio of homers in World Series TBT.

Pujols would have most likely been the MVP had the Cardinals closed out the series much earlier.
