Keith Reaser is a breakout CB that's turning heads in Santa Clara. I hope he takes the spot opposite of Brock. Kenneth Acker is another sleeper. One thing I've learned about defense is that when the Front 7 applies pressure to the QB, you can have semi-great DBs make great plays off errant passes. DC Eric Mangini is bringing more blitz packages, something Vic Fangio didn't do much of.
As far as the offense goes….the coaching staff played a role in not finishing drives. Even after OC Greg Roman figured out a play, Harbaugh would take forever to decide to send the memo to Kap. Left :15 on the play clock. Jim Tomsula is implementing a brand new playbook, which features an uptempo offense which can give Kap time to read a defense and call an audible or do a hot route. A fast paced offense wear a defense down as the game goes along. And yes our O-Line was my biggest concern. They got in shape to prepare for zone blocking, which creates lanes for our RBs.
Speaking of RBs…..you covered all but one. Jarryd Hayne. He might be a key asset before anyone outside 49ERS Headquarters sees it. I'm watching him closely in training camp.
I think you did a good best/worst case senario for this team because of the schedule. They have the toughest schedule of any team this season, I think, so the 9-7 prediction is understandable. The bottom line is that you think they will compete and have a better chance at making the playoffs than the "experts" are telling the fans.
And not once did I see you as hating on the 49ERS. All I heard was an unbiased analysis of the 49ERS. Sometimes, that's much better than hearing the fans talk about how they're gonna host Super Bowl 50.
Here's my prediction for the 49ERS 2015 Season……..
49ers will be fine I am a fan of them, so it may seem biased, but you know what your talking about cause it's accurate. We fell apart, but we actually rebuilt quite solid. People have lower standards cause they don't really follow the offseason cause they follow there team duh lol. But we have good players just need Kap to be the mover he was not inside the pocket like they made him do last season:/
