Failure of the second stage oxygen tank or piping before it began firing. That first stage is tough! Stop the video as it begins leaking between the 1st & 2nd stages. That oxygen pours out for a while before they blow it all. Blame Clinton, Bush, Obama and Congress for not funding NASA adequately. In fact, every President since Nixon. For 10% of what we wasted in Afghanistan & Iraq, we could be well on our way to putting a man on Mars by now.

This sucks. I know it'll happen, but way too many people jump on events like this as an excuse to stop exploring space.

1:33 shows really well what I believe is a leak from the 2nd LOX fueling port. LOX leaking down the side of the rocket and into the ignition, if this came back up into the LOX tank it would have caused the over pressure?

It's interesting that the first 18 launches of SpaceX were flawless. They started to have problems only after that. Wonder if the problems are caused by their effort to make the launches "better, faster, and cheaper"?
