i get the problem with playing on turf, but equal pay for womens soccer is just never going to happen, thats like wnba players saying they want nba salaries lool. not realistic

I'm not sure how relevant her conclusion is about gender discrimination but she seems like a rad girl in spite of the fact.

It is not discrimination of women! The league/teams simply CAN'T pay the female players as much as male players because there isn't the audience

Playing the World Cup on turf in Canada is as bad, if not worse, than playing in Qatar. It's a shame that female footballers don't get the respect they deserve

This girl is a dud. Her justification for playing for the USA over Canada was essentially to win, which they havent done in 16 years? I think a lot of Canadian fans are upset with her because in the way she justifies it, she implies Canada is no match in women's soccer, which is so far from the truth.

On another note, sports pay is based on popularity, you can't ask for equal pay when you don't generate nearly the same amount of revenue.

I never understood why it was ok for FIFA to just push artificial turf onto the Women's World Cup. Hopefully, it doesn't lead to more injuries.

asking for equal pay in sports is absurd! You will be paid based on how good you are, how many fans that you can get in the stadiums and buying the merchandise. The womens game is not even a fraction as big as the mens game, so why should they be paid equally?

Traitor. Traitor. Traitor. She threw slavery in the garbage like it never happened and now is choosing to play for the country her ancestors were oppressed by. You make me sick.

The men wouldn't last a game playing on turf… Only Badass women like this can push through that kind of pain

I remember the match she was talking about. I saw all the backlash she got online and on T.V. Truly disgraceful of those "Canadians" to have let their insecurities manifest into the kind of behaviour found in European sports culture. This country is really losing it's way…and this is coming from a proud Canadian :(

I never understand people leaving their home country to play for another country I couldn't live with myself if I did that, it would feel like a betrayal of my identity. I do understand when people leave their country because they're ashamed to represent it like how Iori Podlachkov left Russia and joined Switzerland for Olympic snowboarding. I just feel like if she left Canada to play for the US she was never a true Canadian in the first place. :(
