Very glad I "stumbled" on this Smokey Robinson Show with some of the most dynamic Motown artist. Good, clean, family entertainment for the best of the best. Eddie Kendrick could put it down on record or live, Smokey and Stevie are just as popular today as they were when this program was recorded probably in the 70s or early 80s. Mary Wilson was always my favorite Supreme she is just one of the most beautiful women on the planet.Great material, love this.
did anyone else notice that when the Temptations start off singing "Special Occasion" even though you hear audience applause, the crowd behind them aren't clapping?..which leads me to ask if there was a laugh track on this show?
This is an absolute TREASURE! Thank you SO much for finding this! If you are the FIRST to actually find this gem in its entirety, PLEASE place your stamp on it so nobody else can claim it. Once again THANK YOU!!
Not a mistake for mary to wear the green outfits Diana Ross did not own these outfits, they were pass down to all new members to wear, and today Mary owns all the outfits. they are all in the Mary Wilson Collection that travels all over the world as part of an exhibition for museums, A very smart business move Ms Wilson
I cannot thank you enough for posting this for Berry, at this point, was so dead set against helping the Supremes after Diana left (after Mary refused to make a last minute change in the group from Jean Terrell to Syreeta) that, despite the close relationship Smokey had with Berry, this remains the only TV special Motown had that did not have an accompanying soundtrack album. It was strange seeing the Miracles without Pete though they toured without him in the early days when he did a stint in the military. The jokes they told throughout the evening are actually pretty funny and it was great hearing Stevie sing in another language. The only weak point was Fan Jeffries more popish sound (though the duet with Smokey & Stevie helps) and having anyone but Smokey or Eddie sing "Special Occasion." Other than that, the medley of songs Smokey wrote was great. This was definitely one of Motown's better TV specials!
Jean Terrell is making Smokey feel it on "Someday We'll Be Together"! LOL!

Great footage! Thanks for sharing.
Overall it is one of the best Motown shows ever. I wish they would release this and other Motown TV special on DVDs. Has anyone seen the Smokey Robinson's TV show in the summer of 1985 called the Motown Revue? https://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=AwrBT76FLs1U.nYAhSZXNyoA;_ylc=X1MDMjc2NjY3OQRfcgMyBGZyA3lmcC10LTkwMS1zBGdwcmlkA2JwemJ6REdvUm1lcFBYN2RBbXhXVEEEbl9yc2x0AzAEbl9zdWdnAzAEb3JpZ2luA3NlYXJjaC55YWhvby5jb20EcG9zAzAEcHFzdHIDBHBxc3RybAMEcXN0cmwDMjUEcXVlcnkDc21va2V5IHJvYmluc29uIFRWIHNlcmllcwR0X3N0bXADMTQyMjczMzAyNg–?p=smokey+robinson+TV+series&fr2=sb-top-search&fr=yfp-t-901-s&fp=1

I Couldn't get MOTOWN 25 tonight~
THIS IS the next GREATEST THING!
I don't understand the 'Fran Jeffries' addition, tho'!
Big mistake for Mary to wear Diana's green outfit. Why didn't they just make another blue one for Mary?
Starring the MIRACLES. Guest stars: The Temptations, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, and Fran Jefferies .
Too bad Pete, Claudette , and Marv couldn't be on the special .
FINALLY The MIRACLES' lost 1970 ABC-TV special is on YouTube !!!
