James Gunn. Joe and Anthony Russo. Jon Favreau. Marvel almost always picks unknown directors. Also marvel isn't making any money of spider-man movies but Sony in turn won't make money off of the non spider-man movies that spider-man is in like civil war which he was confirmed to be in and the auditions were held in Atlanta where civil war is filming
Still really upset they didn't go with Miles Morales for MCU because they really need more diversity in the MCU. Maybe they'll just set up for Morales since he is a legacy character, and now that he'll be in the main comics universe. Just please MCU, no more Spidey origin stories.
Butterfield looked too young? He looked you know 16 like spider-man is and he's 18 like you know how an actor would have to be to not be super frustrating
Meh. I'm not a big fan of reboots, much less multiple reboots. When batman did it, it kind of worked since it was more spread out (at first) and when it came to the Hulk people embraced reboots because it would mean the crappy movies that came before weren't canon. But there are huge fanbases for both of the previous Spider-Man series and I don't really see what a third Spider-Man could do to please those fans. The fact that this happened just because of copyright issues doesn't help much. But whatever. When future movies come out, I'll base my opinion on future movies on their own merit, not compare them to what came before.
He's also done a lot of low-budget indie stuff. Most notably a mostly shot for shot parody remake of Robocop called "Our Robocop Remake" and a buddy cop comedy with puppets called "The Fuzz". I feel like he would get the witty, humorous side of Spider-Man so I'm okay with this. Oh and the casting isn't bad either.
I want Spider Man to be played by Iwata
The thing with Asa butter field is that he looks like either a young benedict cumberbatch or a young Elijah Wood.
I think the folks at marvel didn't want a mini Dr. strange running around come infinity war
James Gunn.
Joe and Anthony Russo.
Jon Favreau.

To be honest I'm happy with this choice. I can't wait to see where they take this.
I'm excited, but he has to get that mole removed from his chin.
Should have been Asa Butterfield.
Another reboot? Marvel just can't get Spider-Man right.

It'd be pretty cool to 'reveal' Spiderman by him de-masking during the Civil War movies.
And there was much rejoicing
TBH I want Andrew Garfield back :

Pretty off topic to Spider-Man. But your Intro is the best thing
I think Elijah wood looks a like a good Spider-Man, but now he's old, so no. This holland guy will be a good Spider-Man.
Charlie Rowe looks better for the part.
Maguire was a really good Peter Parker
Garfield was a perfect Spiderman
Hopefully Holland will be a mixture of both.

So…no one gonna say it? Alright I guess I have to.
I can't believe it's not butterfield!
Horrible choice. Holland is only 5' 6" tall. He's a midget!!! Should have kept Andrew Garfield.
