Amy Rodriguez is world class. So my tricks in her bag. She's got vision, great ball control, passing and of course she knows how to put the ball in the back of the net. The game is changing and if team US wants to keep up they need a multi talented forward like her.

Man, is it me or was this commentating just bad? A lot of "stating the obvious", no real in game insight. Seemed like they were complaining more than commentating. Just me.

NZ, a young team that could not match the skill or the speed of the US. US defenders playing near the top of the NZ goal because they knew that they could recover and defend a counter. Again, NZ is young but they will get better. Their concept of play was good and they stuck to the plan, they just could not compete with the skill at each position. I think that there are few teams would not start all of the US bench.

Kudos to Coach Ellis and company for accomplishing their mission of more creativity and unpredictibility of offense in the attacking third.
It made for the most interesting and engaging match the USWNT has played in a while.
Every player on the pitch played their role well. At the end of the day, it does not matter which individuals score goals, it only matters that the whole team scores goals with the bonus of a clean sheet.

In basketball terms, the US have a really hard time bringing the ball up halfcourt. It seems like a combination of them dribbling too much and not passing, but also maybe defenses playing tighter on them. The US defense looks more "zone" and not as tight, at least until they get down near the box?
