I'm not thrilled with the fires but I'm getting a bit tired of people reacting like the whole city is engulfed. The biggest concern for most of us is the smoke as well as road and business closures. Two of my siblings work near the area of the fire in the city and both had their work closed. Sis' work had some fire damage to their building and warehouse but power was still cut off earlier today (I'm assuming for safety purposes.)

We are used to wildfires around here, although they normally don't get so close to town. The really worrying thing is how early in the year this started and the temps being 100+. This is August weather, and we still have many more months to go before Summer is done. :(

I find the ever-increasing practice of "clean hand" capturing, editing and presenting such wildfire imagery as a sanitized spectacle [great emphasis] to be disheartening.
