Toho has integrated 35mm footage into video releases since 1991. Toho ONLY used 16mm for the 1980s video releases. While even myself was guilty of the assumption presented, that doesn't make it any less false. Also, Toho already integrated the 35mm scans back into the recent Blu-Ray release, so unless they found the trims for the first reel again (which were not utilized), this is nothing special.
