I didn't think that Venus would make this match what it turned out to be. She was struggling with her autoimmune disease and I just figured she wouldn't play at a high level again. How wrong was I?!? And I enjoyed watching her prove me wrong! This was just the start of a remarkable resurgence by her. Can't wait for Wimbledon this year. If she's healthy and feeling good – watch out! (and it's been a few years since we could say that about Venus)

100% venus at her best on grass would beat kvitova, she serves harder, moves faster and is better at the net, all she was lacking in this match was pace off the ground, if her ground strokes were as solid as they used to be back in 2007 for example venus would have won this match!!

As the number 16 seed at this year's Wimbledon Venus will draw one of the Top 4 seeds in the Round of 16. I hope she draws Petra. Petra has somehow managed to play her absolute BEST tennis against Venus. The girl plays out of her mind against Vee. She plays like crap against everyone else. I want a re-match.

Saw that match live, venus exceeded all expectations but didn't have that next gear to take Kvitova out. Kvitova isn't likeable with that squawk and cheering when her opponent fell over
