Honestly, she was just being sarcastic. Humor in the UK is very different from the US.
Then again they were asking silly questions so of course she's going to give silly answers, don't waste her time.Ask better questions. I also HATE it when people mock the British accent because apparently we all speak the same. I just felt bad for Cara.
I think the book question could have been asked more appropriately like did you get the chance to read the book to see how the book and movie differed or have you already read it? something like that at least then they wouldn't have sounded like total assholes.
She was being sarcastic and I found it quite humorous. That one reporter Marianne McClary was downright rude because I don't think she understands British humour.
If all my journalistic dreams were crushed and I found myself working for Good Day Sacramento, I'd probably be exactly as bitter as those anchors were. Cara did a pretty admirable job dealing with their misplaced aggression.
??? I definitely don't think it's rude to ask if an actor has read the book. I 've seen in loads of interviews actors explaining that they have not read or followed a book or tv show; that they auditiond blindsidedly; it's not that rare to be honest.
They didn't like her disposition, which is fairly understandable. She did not look happy to be there. I mean, that's her thing though right? She's genuine. I do think she was just being herself and I applaud her for how calmly she ended it.
Here's my honest opinion and I think an objective one..
The interviewers were airheads and asked dumb questions so I totally think Cara was rightfully annoyed BUT she over did it with the sarcasm. First time was okay, second comment was okay, by the third sarcastic comment I kinda started to feel like Cara was being bratty.. Lets not forget that she's representing not only the film and all the creators but also John Green in a way. Part of her job is to promote and in that interview she did not accomplish any of that but rather let the stupid interviewers get the best of her. That's just my humble opinion though ! Either way the interviewers messed up lol. Btw this isn't the entire interview so I would recommend watching the full one to understand what I mean when I say Cara overdid the sarcasm.
Everyone seems to be defending Cara but I really don't see why. Yes, the interviewers were asking stupid questions, but she's an actress. Couldn't she have just sucked it up and answered the dumb questions? Doesn't answering questions like "did you read the book" come with the job? And I don't care that she's done a ton of similar interviews, she's not the only actress to ever do a press tour. Plus, this isn't the fist interview she's acted bitchy in. At least fake a smile, princess.
Newsanchors were blatantly rude especially the big loud mouth woman. They were asking her all these insulting sarcastic questions. I'm surprised she didn't respond to them appropriately. I don't think these anchor people have good ethical background at all. What a shame. Pure rudeness and tactless unprofessional.
Do you think she was being rude, or were the interviewers just nuts?

It's those eyebrows, they make her look angry, like uncle Leo in Seinfeld when he gets his eyebrows blown off, and they have to draw them back on.
So awkward!!! I get anxious watching reporters mess up interviews! #tooclosetohome

That interview was stupid, why ask dumb questions ffs.

The interviewers messed up the interview from the beginning. And what they said at the end about a nap and a Redbull…I mean really?

The news people were kind of rude!! Team Delevinge all the way I love Cara so much!!
California's central valley peasants. What do you expect from these unsophisticated loud and gossipy low lives?
Rudest thing here were her eyebrows
Um asking if they read the book is a really common question tho
to be honest alot of the actors on game of thrones never read the books…… then agian it's fucking long ass shit.
Really enjoyable tho
