Actually his wrist movement makes perfect sense , he manages to keep the club square in the the back swing meaning there is no need to work the wrists through the ball , its logical the more movement you have the more mistakes you make , he takes out the roll.
@ArgentThug I think his swing is one of the best on tour. It looks a bit weird though because of his hand positioning at the top of his back swing, everything else is really good. Another thing is he doesn't have a smooth swing like Luke Donald, he has a power swing and it works for him.
Crazy how flush every single one of his shots sounds off the face. I know it's not for everyone but I personally love the sound of the new Taylormade Equipment off the face (DJ is playing the R1 as well as the Rocketbladez Tour Iron). I'm a big fan, sound is confidence! Love DJ's swing too, so unique but really works well with his left wrist action at the top of the backswing. Phenomenal video would love to see more like this on DJ! -Sean
i love dusty's swing, and am intruiged as to why he hoods the face. a natural grip would allow a fuller swing ( maybe Sadlowskisk rotation) and much much more dynamic hands . Hes got the hips , just not the hands. feedback appriciated
coca?
the sound of impact he creates is just incredible
Thanks for posting this! Awesome video

Such great strikes
Just because it doesn't look the same as others doesn't mean it isnt as good. He is certainly more flexible and athletic then everybody.
very cool video
really O.o that's interesting cuz I had a go with an R1 a few weeks ago it was quite a pop but fair nuff……and yes johnsons athleticism is incredible
Wow the new R1 is loud O.o
great fucking video man
I know he hits long but why his swing just doesn't look as good as some others?

Isn't that the point though?
With this grip and action, he eliminates all hand action, which means he just has to worry about clearing the body.
In many ways, it's easier to play like this.
02:50, that sound!!
5:20 was nailed

1:34 what a sound
actually it's more muted than the R11s and RBZ tour. But geez, it's amazing to see him hit balls like this.

very interesting how he twists the wrists just a little as he starts the backswing.
