Wow. I never would have even thought that comment could be offensive because of the stigma that black peoples' hair is "dirty." That was really eye-opening. I for one thought that was def targeting a hippie, peace-loving, dirty and smelling mentality and NEVER thought it was racial. But I guess now I can see why it might have been offensive.

It was only offensive because of the race involved. If that had been a white girl and she'd said "she looks like a stoner hippie", no one would have said a word about it. It's a sick double standard. You can't get pissed because someone said it about a black girl and not get pissed if they said it about a white girl. You either care about insults in general, or you don't care at all. Stop picking and choosing who to be offended by and who to be offended for. ALL lives matter. ALL feelings matter. Not just black ones.

Here we go, with the "black folks are to damn sensitive", crap. Rancic was wrong, she got called out on it, and some folks don't like it, because maybe she speaks for THEM. Osbourne should just be quiet.

Damn… Kelly showed her true colors…you never threw a friend and colleague under the bus like that, if Zendaya is her friend she should've known Kelly didn't say that, but Kelly just behaved like the cockroach she is when the lights are upon her…

I just think if zendaya was older and mature she would not have allowed that comment to affect her as much. Zendaya is very sensitive young woman, I see how she reacted to the way us black folks attacked her playing aaliyah at first. I have watch fashion police they have said a whole lot worse about people than the comment that was given to zendaya and nothing was said so I just think if she was older it wouldnt have been a big deal. That is why zendaya still subject to Disney, most young people her age pretty much depart from disney onto other other avenues but she is not ready because with growth in hollywood comes criticizing and disapproval.

White women are called sexy for having a curvier figure or fuller lips. Black women are called trashy and primitive for having a curvier figure or fuller lips. White women are called edgy and bold when wearing black hairstyles. Black women are called dirty smelling, weed smoking hippies when wearing their hairstyles. FUCK your double standards.

That "perspective" would be valid if that bitch who by the way was an "actress" and didn't stood in her lane had an afro, or a least natural hair. But NO, she agree with the comment: Black people's hair needs to be "relax" like hers had. Double fucking standard. Why nobody's stand for the jokes of rednecks, or latinos. WHY!? Just don't get so personal and act according what you say.

Giuliana did not say that Zendaya had "unwashed" hair… They are interpreting her words while she was only trying to say something funny. BTW: weed and patchouli have a very nice smell.

I'm sorry but the woman to the left of Sharon who said about hair being ugly etc., so it's okay to say it to a white person but not to a black person? Double standards and hypocrisy. Can't have it both ways. I happen to think the dreadlocks looks dirty on anyone who has them, I think it looks matted and unclean. But to say if it had been said to a white person no one would care, then I'm sorry but get over it if it's said to a black person. It's hypersensitivity. It's basically saying you can say a white person can look ugly and dirty and but a black person.

I dont get the point sheryl was trying to make. I think Aisha's explanation was well put and enough. Sheryl should have just shutup when she is so damn ashamed of her own hair that she has to wear some of the most God awful wigs ever so whatever.

this whole thing is kind of a mess. The 'joke' in itself is not offensive and is NOT race related at all. As someone that loves and wears patchouli oil on a regular basis, I am more than aware of the connotations it has and the 'Pot Smoking Peace & Love Flower Power Hippy Child' jabs that come with it. Its a bizarre case of the generation that watches these shows are just not older enough to get that reference and the nuance of how dreads tie into that (the image that springs to my mind is actually White People with dreads and tie-dye t-shitrts) But you gotta play to your audience and if you don't get that that joke wouldn't have worked with Giuliana, towards a Black Girl then it's the producers fault. But it is a very fine line, I agree if it was said by Joan, there is a timing thing, the pitch of the delivery would have totally worked and been funny in an 'Oh no she didn't' way. But like it was said, Giuliana is not a Comedian so it read completely different for a lot of people obviously.

Guliana wasnt trying to be racist… her apology was sincere… now Kelly needs to grow up too and remember she is on a show where she has bashed peoples looks for years…. I dont condone racism in any form and id like to know why its ok for blacks to make fun of whites and stereotype but it cannot be done in reverse… why doesnt anyone stand up and say STOP IT IN ITS ENTIRETY…. Why does a show like fashion police exist? They chose what they worse because they love it…mind your business and stop judging… Dont be Hypocritical

Very true Kelly had nothing to do with Juliana comments. Don't go by what people say look at the footage and see for your self.

That is a ridiculous excuse Joan Rivers was allowed to make raw comments but no one else can make the same kind of comments? The fashion police show is all about raw comments and jokes.
