Yesterday I listened to this on acid. It was crazy.
The instruments played but it's as if the notes bunched up and played all at once in little bursts. And in addition to the usual lyrics I could hear other voices in the music telling me secrets of life.
Eventually I got so lost in the tunnel of music that I forgot about my body and was floating through the notes.
To the idiots out here calling these guys mediocre, let me tell you they knew who they were and when they were good and when they weren't. They stated in interviews, it was all about playing through your soul. It didn't matter how great they were people felt their passion. And they were great long before all your gadgets that make recording smooth. Their is no fakeness in their music what so ever!
My cousin picked up 10lbs of gold Colombian from me circa 1979 and drove his bug out to California to follow the dead ( the weed was for a little extra income once there:) ) He never came back
every time a show or movie uses songs or albums the comments section is littered with people saying "this brought me here" nobody truly cares why you're here fact is you're here so enjoy the music

Hey, in Central PA, "it's Just A Box of Rain"!
I'm not a big Grateful Dead fan But I love this album. No endless jamming – just a bunch of really good songs, folksy, simple, nice harmonies.
lol Acid
I'm glad I checked out this album, thanks Freaks and Geeks. Show shouldn't have ended :/

I was too stoned back in the day, to really appreciate The Dead. That's sad, what an amazing band !!
I guess this music only sounds good to potheads.

Giving "thumbs down" to this recording should be punishable by death.
